Ashley spent a large part of his career as Business Development Director for Severn Trent Water International, the international division of Severn Trent Water, the second largest private water company in the UK. He played a key role in a number of large institutional capacity building projects for water authorities in Europe, the Caribbean and the United States. Since retiring Ashley has maintained a key interest in business and has participate in several international projects as a business and infrastructure advisor.
